Announcing the Kymberlee Burger Scholarship Fund
On June 15, the Blairsville Dance family was devastated to learn of the passing of one of our own. Kymberlee Burger was not just a studio parent but one of our most avid supporters in words and in actions. In fact, due to her hard work as top supporter of our scholarship fund for the past several years, she single-handedly gave many local children the opportunity to dance that could not have afforded to do so otherwise. This season, we have 14 students who are able to dance with us due to her work on the Scholarship Fund.
To commemorate her, we announce our scholarship program has been named the Kymberlee Burger Scholarship Fund, in honor of the woman who did so much to make it a success. Kym was such a very important part of our studio family. I talk a lot about positive energy, and that’s what she was. Her smile lit up a room. Her passing has left a hole in our hearts, but the work she has done supporting us and the kids of our community will be felt by many for years to come.
The Scholarship Fund is supported by our Annual Fundraiser, which is kicking off on September 30, as well as small fundraisers, such as recital flower sales.
In addition to the work being done by the studio in her honor, with the community being shaken by her passing, a group of parents of Blairsville Dance decided to come together and create a foundation in her honor for the children of Blairsville Dance. Their goal is that hopefully, one day this foundation will grow to support the entire Arts Community in the surrounding areas.
They are holding their first fundraiser and invite us to join them for a special Frappe/Smoothie Night Fundraiser at Cabin Coffee Co. to benefit The Loveumost Foundation through the Moms at Blairsville Dance. Drop by on Thursday, October 10th between 5:30-7:00 PM and purchase a MOCHA FRAPPE OR A STRAWBERRY BANANA SMOOTHIE and support this great cause! A portion of all sales will benefit this group.
